There are four types of committees which are the standing, conference, joint and interim committees. The standing committee, considers bills to be considered on the main floor and has lawmaking authority. The conference committee, reconciles different house/sen. versions of a bill and also has lawmaking authority. The conference committee also has five members of each house, can reject/approve bills and submits a report to the bills original house. The joint committee is permanent and advises the executive on issues. The last committee, is the interim committee, which is permanent and considers bills for the next legislative session. Committees are important because this is where action takes place and decisions are made here. I believe that the conference committee is the most important because they have more jobs to complete. Not only do they have lawmaking authority, but they can approve and reject different bills. In my point of view, it seems that they have more power over the other
