Governments under the Constitution do not favor equality and are corrupt: In the Legislature, there are not enough representatives for each state in the House of Representatives, which would cause a lack of communication. Moreover, there wouldn’t be enough people to prevent corruption from the aristocrat-filled House. Furthermore, the Senate holds the same amount of representatives from a large state and a small state, which causes inequality. Additionally, the Senate can bribe the president to do their bidding in exchange for re-election.…

The legislative branch is an essential part of Texas Government because it is the only branch of government responsible for proposing and passing laws. Although Texas has a very limited government, many view the legislative branch as the least limited in Texas. The Texas state legislature is extremely important because of the way its structure limits it’s power, the ability of legislature to completely determine budget, and also the procedure that a bill must go through to become a law in Texas. Since “Home-rule” cities with a population of 5,000 can govern itself instead of the state, I think that home rule only applies to cities of 5,000 citizens or more is because of the people needing to vote for the city charter. 5,000 people or more gives a larger view of the people’s opinions on the things they vote for. Having an election with fewer than 5,000 might not give an accurate representation of a majority vote for certain things. Also, I’m thinking that maybe since the charter is approved by the voting of citizens, having plenty of voters makes sure a small group can’t overpower the election with bad decisions.…

The legislative branch is the nations Congress, that is comprised of the Senate, House of Representatives and other agencies. They have many responsibilities that include: constructing laws, confirming presidential appointments, grant money to the executive and judicial branches and can declare war. Recently, the Senate has decided to hold off on approving the presidential appointment of a Supreme Court nominee, after the recent passing of one of its members in February. The Republican senators believe it should fall on the next elected president to appoint the new member (Liptak, 2016). Home rule was started in the early 1900s and now most states have adopted some form of the policy. Indiana was late to this trend, adopting home rule into the code in 1980. Home rule was adopted as a means of easing the responsibilities of state government. Home rule gave power to the local governments meaning that the state government did not have to play as active of a role in the less important local government issues. This is similar to the relationship between the federal and state governments.…
