Hospital Compare is a government website that provides information regarding the quality of care and locations of Medicare-certified hospitals. It is a public website which means that anyone, not just health care providers, can access the information and compare the quality data. The benefits of this are two-fold. One, it serves as an incentive for hospitals to continuously seek ways to improve the quality of care they are providing, and two, it allows patients to make informed decisions regarding where they want to be treated in order to receive the best care for the condition for which they are seeking treatment.
Hospital Compare provides the following types of information; general information, patients’ experiences, timely and effective
