Simply, because America is in a recession, there is always a need to save money and cut costs. Middleboro could decrease their expenses through hospital affiliation with a chain organization. Regulatory forces have approved the operation of 295 acute-care beds, and all building codes are currently met. The demographics of the Middleboro area are fairly average. There is an even distribution of all age groups, without an excessive amount of elderly.
A lot of the city’s population, however, fails to have sufficient hospital insurance. Our competition would include Webster Osteopathic Hospital, but they are not considered too much of a threat due to their small size. Middleboro Community Hospital has many specialty units, such as the Cancer Treatment Center, which would give them an advantage in attracting patients who live further away that are seeking specialized health care services.

There is a high demand to meet physician requests for “better inexpensive office space close to the hospital." There are currently thirty offices that consist of 6,000 square feet each. This facility is not able to expand on to additional land. The sizes of these offices are rather large, so we would split them in half to about 3,000 square feet each. This would allow another thirty offices to physicians in the area to occupy, and could also decrease the costs for the physicians renting them out. With this expansion, we would want to meet both the physician 's demand for more office space close to the hospital, as well as meet the needs of the community and patients. If we observe the additional offices fill up quickly, this would be a measure that we succeeded in our expansion and was a success. Furthermore, we would want all the working physicians to be receiving a sufficient amount of patients and meet the demands for
