His acknowledgement and embracement of diversity led him to not only grow a worldwide recognizable entertainment company, but also allowed him to grow on a personal level to continually seek better alternate opportunities. Walt’s phenomenal empire was made possible by his ability to assimilate all aspects of his trajectory, good and bad. Prior to the unveiling of the acclaimed Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney pitched his first animated comedy series Alice in Wonderland to distributors once arrived to California in 1923. Soon, a distributor in New York, M.J. Winkler, signed the animated comedy series. The Alice series turned out a great success for the consequent four years. The companionship ceased once the distributor double-crossed Disney in his attempt to air Oswald the Lucky Rabbit; Due to terms of contract and having hired most of Disney’s animators on board with the project, M.J. Winkle was able to produce the series at a lower cost, shunning Disney away from his own creation. Just as he did at the closing of his first animation studio, Laugh-O-Gram, Disney steered separately and continued moving forward.
