There are numerous ways assessment can be classified, constructed, performed and reported. It is of the opinion that the type of assessment will be diagnostic, summative or formative being conducted in either a formal or informal manner. The way in which the assessment will be performed can also be further divided into norm-responsive testing or criterion response testing.
Diagnostic assessment is regularly used at the beginning of a new unit of study.
