Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationship in Education and Training
Understand the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training.
As stated in the Student-Centred Learning Study (2010), the student is the focal point in the learning process. This type of learning makes it more challenging and motivating as the learner plays an active role in his learning journey. Therefore, everything the teacher does should be to help the learner achieve their goal.

Before the course starts I would need to identify learners’ needs. This is a starting point in the learning journey and would allow me to set the next steps to accomplish their aims. To find out whether learners have any specific needs or requirements the initial assessment should be carried out. Knowing about learning disabilities or barriers to learning would help to undertake relevant steps (evidence 3). Fleming and Bonwell created four main learning styles: visual, auditory, read/write and kinesthetic, known as VARK. Assessing the learning style preferences would enable me to prepare appropriate resources and activities (evidence …show more content…
It is worth to mention the Learning Pyramid (evidence 5) which shows the importance of learning differentiation. By varied teaching approaches it is more possible that the learning will take place. As the world of technology plays a significant role in our life it would be important to include it in my lessons, which would be a perfect way of developing learners’ ICT skills, but also gives endless possibilities on lessons enhance and differentiation (evidence 6). Delivering the lesson would be a perfect opportunity to promote equality and diversity. Daines et al. (2006), state that tutors play an important role in promoting the difference. Teachers are constantly watched by learners, so I would use it as a tool to give an exceptional example in creating environment which promotes, understands and accepts differences. Every individual deserves to have equal opportunities to learn and I would adapt my teaching methods to meet their needs (evidence 7). Wallace (2006), states that if outcomes are not achieved by students the lesson is not achieving the primary purpose. This is why assessing plays a significant role in the learning process. Formative assessment gives feedback about the learners’ progress through the course and a summative assessment is carried out at the end of the course and this is a formal way to check if the learner has met the outcomes of the course. To determine whether
