Given that my MWA 2 was on the topic of child beauty pageants and their corruptive traits, I have decided to transform my commentary to that of an article that would be published in a parenting magazine. I did so because I wanted my audience to be primarily mothers and fathers, and anyone with a child that would read material that gave parental advice. Which also ties in with my purpose. Because my commentary had a argument that claimed child beauty pageants to be toxic to the youth, my purpose is to warn parents of the dangers that come with allowing children to participate in such a mature competition. Some may be unaware or conflicted on such controversial activities, so what better way than publish an article stating all of its flaws and…

Harlow’s study on the infant monkeys has led to a lot of controversy and uproar. Many people believed that taking the monkeys away from their mothers at such a young age was detrimental to the monkey’s wellbeing and not in their best interest (New World Encyclopedia, 2014).…

An aspect of this observational study that worked well was the 5-point scale. Because of the specificity of my scale, I found distinguishing between and labeling the different behaviors to be simple. However, there are two aspects I might need to revise if I were to run this study again, being: the sample size and number of observers. Specifically, I would have liked my sample size to be larger, so that more males and females would be tested, which would allow for a broader generalizability of results. In addition, I would also have ten observers, two per condition, so that the study could control for inter-rater reliability.…
