As we all know the literal meaning of milestone is defined as a marker to tell you where you are, as you are travelling. But, today, milestone will be defined as a developmental stage where children’s milestone mark as they accomplish improvements as they grow up. For example, body growth, language development, motor development, play development, attention development, social development, memory development and mental development. Each child’s development in certain stages may differ depending on their ages, genes, environment and IQ. Child development does not happen uniformly, but rather, it progresses along at its own rate. Moreover, children develop various qualities from the primary caregiver staring when they were little. Primary caregiver, whether they are the aunts, parents, grandparents, or uncles. They are the one responsible for helping out the children, because children adapt quickly when they are being taken care of. The things that happen to a child as they are growing up may vary as they grow older; whether it may traumatize them or not. It will always be part of who they are. As I observe Bryan, who is now 10 years old. I see some stages where he is fully developed and following the standards of his age. Yet, on the down side, I see some undeveloped qualities that may not be fully developed due to unknown categories. Physical development provides children with the abilities they need to explore and interact with the world around them. It is also about improving the skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement, although the age at which they achieve them may differ from child to child. Bryan as I see him, his height is normal for his age. He has a complete feature. He has both hands and both feet. He can walk properly. He has complete teeth and he can talk normal. However, as I hear his talks I notice that he has a hard time saying the words with r’s and l’s on them. When his parents tell him …show more content…
He barely talks with children his age. He would rather sit in the corner with his iPad with him. He isolates himself from other kids and/or people. I observe that he only plays with other kids if they ask him to or if his parents took away his iPad. When every kid is together, he is the quiet one of all of them. In addition, he is a kind of child where he eats more than other kids do. You also can clearly see that he looks down when you try to talk to him. He doesn’t look at your eyes unlike other children would. In short, he has a very low self-confidence due to his weight. But one thing that he is very good at, he remembers your instructions to him and he follows it accordingly. He is unlike other kid at his age range that would ask a lot of questions first before doing so. Mental development comes with different types. And I would say that memory development and strategic development come with mental development. Bryan tends to memorize a poem quickly than other kids his age, which is good for him. Also, Bryan has a very good strategic ways of learning and putting things in order or the way they should be. He is also very talented memorizing the instructions his parents told him to do.
