I feel like Ryder is progressing on typical toddler issues as well as anyone can expect. One typical toddler issue he is facing is potty training. It is suggested in the textbook that parents not push their children to be toilet trained but allow them to choose when they are ready, and assist them when they are. Lindsay and I have been using this method, wanting his curiosity to lead him to be ready. Jaden immediately stood out amongst his peers. While observing the entire class looking for a child to observe for the quarter, I took an interest in Jaden. The initial thing I noticed about him was his clothing; I really liked his style. Whether that was based on his personal style or his parents’ style, I don’t know; all I know is it caught my attention. When I first noticed him, he was wearing a pair of black joggers and a puffy winter jacket zipped up to the top.…

Child development is an amazing thing to watch in the way that children interact with one another and how they perceive the world that surrounds. While doing my research of child development we began to observe a set of sisters that happened to be my two nieces, one being 2, and the other being 4. I spent a weekend staying over at my sister’s house to spend time with them to conduct this project, and learned many things about their physical, cognitive, and social and emotion development. This observation took place in the children's home. As a playroom they used the living room because that is where all their toys are.…

Jordan’s grandfather told her that she was just like her mommy, as she brushed her hair looking in the mirror with her baby brush. It appears that Jordan is recognizing different behaviors from her parents and learns them by mimicking the specific behavior.…

Toddlers look like they are very hard to handle or can be very easy to corporate, but it depends on the child itself. Though they are very adorable to take care I figured to choose my setting at a church called Calvary Bible Church, which they take care of all ages from infants to teenagers. On February 25, 2018 I choose to observe toddlers/walkers from 10:45 to 12:15. The number of toddlers were about four and there were three helpers and one teacher who oversees the classroom. The reason I choose this setting is because I wanted to see a different aspect of how a church setting is set up, than a childcare faculty.…
