What is College Professor Rating?
Do you remember your favorite teacher or professor? What about the ones you couldn’t stand? I remember in November, toward the end of first semester, when I was struggling with my registration for interim and spring semester classes. As the first generation and an undecided student, I am not sure what class to take. So, I tried to seek some help from my counselor and the upperclassmen. Similar to many other students, I had some burning questions in the back of my mind, such as “Is this class going to be hard?” “What’s the professor like?” I quickly learned about RateMyProfessors (RMP) from my peers and the upperclassmen. RateMyProfessors is basically a website that rates and reviews teachers, professors,

Users have added more than 15 million ratings, 1.4 million professors and over 7,000 schools to RateMyProfessors.com” (RMP). This website allows students to read up on their reviews and check out how others rate college professors so that you can be better prepared, have an idea of what to expect, and know who you may want to avoid or embrace. Users who have or are currently taking a particular professor’s course give a 1-5 scale, in four categories: “helpfulness” (very helpful: 5, not helpful: 1), “clarity” (crystal clear: 5, confusing: 1), and “easiness” (easy: 5, hard: 1). You can also assign professors chili-pepper icons if you think they’re good-looking. Helpfulness means the professor is approachable, nice, easy to communicate with, and available during office hours or after class for additional help. Clarity means students are able to understand the class topics based on the professor's teaching methods and communication style. “Easiness” means less work needs to be done in order to get a good grade. On a 1-5 scale for overall quality means: 1 to 2.4 is poor, the students are not satisfied with the class or professor, 2.5 to 3.4 is average, and 3.5 to 5 is good. The overall scale gives a type of face to the professor (“smiley face" or “frown

With more satisfied employees and more satisfied patients, an organization can most likely look forward to repeat visits by patients and anticipate the power of positive, word-of-mouth reviews. What staff and personal are experiencing in the organization is what matters and needs to be focused on: the culture. Dare, A Regretful Education Have you ever wondered how the D.A.R.E. program worked in the United States? Well I can tell you this, if an officer that is involved with the D.A.R.E. program is trying to show you the impact of a substance, then why do you see them doing that same substance while off duty? They are either smoking a cigarette or guzzling booze until they are downright wasted, if this is the kind of inspiration that helps you stay away from substances, well it’d work better than what you’re learning from D.A.R.E. A multitude of people believe the D.A.R.E. program should be replaced with a different program that provides a new/better way to fight substance abuse, others believe D.A.R.E. should be able to help in the education…

Good night Alejandra, I totally agree with you that scholarly articles are more trustworthy and reliable than other types of articles. Also I think that your comment about a research paper will be a reliable as the source used to create it, is right on point. If an article is writing using sources that are not reliable the article per see will end up being unreliable and surely won’t pass a peer review. This is why, in my opinion it is really important to choose articles that have been reviewed by an expert; since not all scholarly articles are peered…

When a Morrison asked her students if they used rate my professor they came to her said “with nervous sympathy that my ranking on that site "is pretty bad" and that I probably shouldn 't look at it.” The students don’t understand how much preparation the teacher went through to get the lesson for the day ready for her students. This causes the teacher to second guess themselves. After a teacher does their best for so long and then being told that they’re a bad teacher causes them to not want to try as hard anymore, because they were giving their best effort and it wasn’t enough and often they feel it will never be. Another negitive effect of students writing false reviews like saying the teacher is a nagging b***** is that when students who have never met the teacher before, already have a bad opinion about the teacher before they have the chance to form their own opinion, causing the students to automatically disrespect the teacher.…
