Shameless Research Paper

The popular Showtime TV show Shameless is a dysfunction portrayal of a family living in Southside Chicago. This show has just about every dysfunctional family aspect you can imagine and it does a good job of correlating real life situations. The parents in the show, Frank and Monica Gallager, are two lowlife junkies that raised a family. Each child they created what made on Different drugs. Fiona was conceived while they were on acid, Phillip (Lip) was conceived while on mushrooms, Ian was conceived while on PCP, etc. Monica is a diagnosed Bi-polar psychosis patient, who refused to take her meds to control her outburst. This causes many detrimental affects to the family because she then goes threw her ups and downs quite often causing the family many outrageous problems regarding the family life. The worst experience with the family is one thanksgiving when she cut her wrists and bled out in the kitchen in front of all her kids and her husband. The parenting style used by both of the parents is very questionable; not only are the parents gone most of the time leaving the children to fend for themselves, but also they have done nothing to help the household. The root of the problem was entirely the parent’s fault. Frank and Monica had bad parenting ability to the point at which they didn’t even care about the kids. The parents left their kids un-attended a lot that caused them to develop attachment disorders that intern guided them down the roads that they went. The kids aren’t to blame it is the parents for abusing there adult freedom and not caring enough for their kids. Fiona, Lip, and Ian were all pushed aside so Frank and Monica could freely do as they please and the kids resent them more and more for that. Only time will tell what will end up happening when they quit trying to save their parents every time they mess up because every time they do that it hurts the kids the
