Can you imagine a perfect world, nothing I bad until one boy gets a memory that will change everything. This book is written by Louis Low. This book is also sometime in the future in a utopian society, and the goal is sameness. In this book you will read about A boy named Jonas who lives in a perfect communing with no color, weather, being, hurt, or hills. Also no feelings or memory about the outside world known as Elsewhere. However, a man known as the Giver gives Jonas memories… Jonas changes throughout The Giver and as a result, tries to make a change in the community.
Jonas changes for the beginning of the book to the end because in the beginning of the book he is scared and at the end of the book he is courageous. Jonas is afraid in the book when he is not called on in the ceremony of the ten. “ A mistake, a mistake… He felt dizzy, and couldn't focus his attention… The numbers continued in order. Jonas sat dazed, as they moved into the Thirteens and Fourteens, nearing the end. Each time, at each announcement, his heart jumped for moment, and thought wild thoughts.” This was a quote from the book when Jonas felt scared. Near the end of the book Jonas starts to be courageous when he is freezing to death but doesn't stop walking up the steep slippery hill. “ he hugged Gabriel and rubbed his bristly, warming him, to keep them alive. The wind was bitterly cold. The snow swirled, blurring his vision. But somewhere ahead, there is a blinding storm he knew there would be warmth and light. Jonas changes from the beginning of the book to the end because it's the beginning of the book Jonas was also apprehensive and at the end he was also daring. Jonas is apprehensive during the book when he is thinking about the ceremony of Twelve, a quote from this is on page four. “But there was a little shudder of nervousness when he thought about it, about what might happen. Apprehensive, Jonas decided. That's what I am.” This shows that Jonas is apprehensive because Jonas was fearful and anxious about the ceremony of Twelve coming up. At the end of

What Jonas escapes the community Jonas hopes for himself that he will reach Elsewhere and the community will get the memories of everything Jonas received from the Giver. In example in the book when Jonas plans to leave the community is on page 155. “ I was possible, what had planned. Barely possible. If they failed, he would very likely be killed… I'll do it. I think I could do it. I'll try anyway. I'll do it. I think I could do it. I'll try anyway.” This quote States that the Giver’s plan for the to escape will be dangerous but it will change the community and that's what Jonas and the giver what.
