Bonnie is a 45-year-old woman who graduated from Rutgers University with a double major in political science and journalism. In her family everyone went to college and even though she was expected to go she had her own reasons for wanting to further her education. She believed that going to college and furthering her education would help her fulfil a career. Rutgers was the perfect school choice for her since her sister and father were both alumni and the location was perfect. She enjoyed the environment and the surroundings that the campus supplied. The campus was blooming with people who were all there for the same reason; to get an education. Going to Rutgers gave her access to classes directly related to her major including her favorite …show more content…
During her time in this club she learned leadership skills, built her credentials and contributed to her own college experience. She managed her time by making to do lists, and keeping track of assignments, events and appointments in a planner. Taking a lot of naps, staying up late studying or cramming and then recharging the next day was how she balanced all the work from college. When she wasn’t studying, participating in a club, or napping she was meeting with her outside tutor to help her better understand subjects. One of her biggest challenges she faced was not being a good multiple choice test taker. Although, overcoming this challenge wasn’t easy she realized she needed to focus on what she was good at and not focus on the bad. Setting goals for herself was something that was very important. The most extreme goal of hers was to have a great internship so she could build an outstanding resume and land a career in her major. When she was in her last years at school she landed an internship at NJN News which helped her build up her credentials and later land a job in the field. If she could go back and do things differently she wouldn’t have stressed too much over the little things but instead focus on the bigger picture.
