Introduction
In this report I will complete a case study on a girl called Linda who is fourteen year old, who comes into the respite home at regular intervals during the year for a break. Linda is normally outgoing and bubbly, but on this occasion she appears to be withdrawn, has lost weight, not eating at mealtimes or not interacting with other people in the group for social activities. Linda has confided in a third party about being bullied in her school and has being called fat. In the report I will identify who she needs to talk to, what her physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs are, also what communication skills and what recommendations will be required for her needs. I will obtain information from the internet and books for the report.

As a health care assistant I observed that Linda was not eating, was withdrawn and had lost weight, I reported this to the line manager and also recorded what had happen, I provide information from an informal third person, that Linda wasn’t eating because she is being bullied in school, she thinks is fat herself and thinks if she doesn’t eat she will not get any fatter. When assessment is being conducted there should be a level of trust and good communication. There could be care plan put in place to monitor Linda’s behaviour and her food intake. There may be an underlying cause of her eating disorder; her eating disorder may have been a way for her to conceal the bulling or trying to cope with other issues in her life.
