I used to think that physical therapy was merely a method of treatment for people with sports related injuries, but after five years of exposure to the practice, I realized my perception was narrow. President John F. Kennedy said "children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future." I read this statement a few years ago, on a YMCA brochure. Although, President Kennedy said this during the UNICEF Appeal in 1963, these words carry more significance because it created a connection between my current understanding of the physical therapy profession and the possibilities of what it can be.
