As a reflective practitioner and facilitator, I believe it is essential to diagnose and consistently modify one’s philosophy in order to create learning opportunities that are vibrant, balanced, and engaging. It is only in this type of environment that students can develop the necessary perceptive listening and musicianship skills that ultimately leads one to aesthetic sensitivity and awareness.
To adhere to this philosophy, I follow a three-tiered system of instruction. First, I acknowledge the expectations of the school community, which ultimately guides my curriculum and how to best serve the student population. Next, I determine the most efficient means to administer the materials in order to facilitate the learning process and provide
