Equity involves trying to understand and give people what they need to succeed or live happily (Rising to the Challenge, 2015). Embracing equity in the academic systems ensures that all students irrespective of their backgrounds, mental capabilities or physical abilities are given equal opportunities in their quest for education. Equity is a powerful means that can be used to lift all students to higher achievement by creating a level playing ground for all. • Working hard for the students is made to appear to be fun by the teacher by ensuring that they develop the skills of explaining the concepts that the students tend to feel that are difficult to understand in a simple manner and giving incentives and encouragements for any improvements made by the students.
• All the students are given a chance to contribute to the class discussions and give the different approaches that they feel are appropriate to solve a particular problem.
• Group discussions are encouraged among the students.

As a teacher who is championing for this idea, here is the plan I would use.
• Access the background knowledge. I will start by asking the students what they know about equity and equality. I will then use this information to know how deep the introduction should be.
• Encourage brainstorming. I will then encourage students to think broadly about everything they may know about a topic. This way, the students will be able to develop a broader perspective of the importance of what they are expected to learn.
• Explain the relationship. Here I will show the students how the equity lesson is related to other lessons. I will also tell them the relevance of the study and the learning objectives.
• Use graphics. Since equity requires team work among the students, I will develop inspirational pictures that encourage team work and display them to them.
