Anything can change a person’s life that’s going down the drain. This short story essay, “ Thank You, Ma’am.” By Langston Hughes is a classic. It’s a real life story that anyone living the life of Roger, could relate too. He’s growing up in a poor household and decided that committing crimes was his only chance in being able to afford his own personal wants. But he learns that there’s a better way in life other than being a crook. Even though, he was trying to snatch the woman’s purse. Mrs. Jones told him,”I have did things, too, which I would not tell you, son-neither tell God, if he didn’t already know.” (3). Since, Mrs. Jones shared her pass life with him. I think it changed his life around. He was more grateful of the chances he had to change. Knowing that he could’ve been turned in to the police, but Mrs. Jones took him to her home and shedded light on him to change. Last, she gave Roger the money to buy the suede shoes he wanted. But that would be the last day they’ll ever meet again. But I think she influenced him to change.
Roger, I predict will stop performing illegal actions, and make money differently to afford products. Everybody can change no matter the person.With the help of Mrs. Jones I believed Roger did. Roger, I believed changed after all that happened to him meeting Mrs. Jones. With her giving him the money to afford the shoes, I believed helped him. He could now buy the shoes knowing that he didn’t have to rob people to earn money. It changed him for the good. I know he will be determined to get it on his own now. So, this one event helped Roger become a better
