Shalese Lopez Eulogy Her name is Shalese Lopez she was born in Firth ID on May 17, 1999. Her childhood was great! Her family moved around a lot but she was too young to care. She grew up mostly on her Grandmas white farm in Shelley where she could run freely in her diaper/underwear; she would run through her mother’s garden and eat all the peas she could find. Her mom and dad had gotten a divorce when she was one so her father wasn’t really in her life, which left her mom with little to no money but she still gave them as much as she could which was the world to Shalese. Shalese was 7 years younger than her brother and 9 years younger than her sister, but they were still all so close. Every afternoon after lunch they would have sit time to let their food digest and they would always watch the power rangers that were one of many great memories Shalese had from her childhood. Her favorite memory was when she was just 5 years old her mom had taken Shalese, her brother Bubba, and his friends fishing. Shalese used a little Barbie fishing pole from Walmart because she was too young to really fish but then her line started moving and she started to reel in but the fish was too heavy for Shalese to reel so her mom jumped in the river and caught the fish, it ended up being the biggest fish that day! (Also her first fish). She had a wonderful childhood. Shalese then went to Firth Middle School. She had three close friends that were in her classes but all of her other friends were…
I knew that I had to continue learning this incredible form of communication. I just finished ASL 2 at Clovis Community, and will be taking ASL 3 at Fresno City next semester. Though this has nothing to do with my career, it's an interest that appeared eminent to me because of the injustices that were being done to people within the deaf culture. It will be very useful throughout my involvement in the special needs community in Fresno, and I have already found it useful in the Club 321, a social…
he has been through many tough experiences. Such events include, the loss of a loved one and growing up poor in Fresno. However, these ordeals are what made him the decorated and intriguing author he is today. Born on April 12, 1952 in Fresno, California. His parents, Angie and Manuel Soto worked in San Joaquin Valley, California, along with many other Mexican-Americans. According to the University of Michigan, “These jobs included picking crops such as oranges and cotton, or working in local…
take for granted. Now with the prices going up, the landlords have also decided to bump up the prices for rent. It is easy for some to just say “These people should just get a job, maybe then they will be able to afford housing.” In reality, that is not the case, the cost of living and the wages that families and individuals get paid are not in agreement and it is even more difficult when these families are being paid minimum wage. Rent is getting more expensive, which makes it more difficult…
The theory of dramatism can be applied to a myriad of settings and events in one’s life, but one that I can see very evident is my role as a resident assistant. A resident assistant’s job is to supervise a floor or building of residents on a college campus. They are responsible for making sure that residents have a fun, healthy and safe college experience. As an RA, there are several meetings and events that one has to attend and plan, including a weekly module meeting, small group meetings…
nearly 6.5 million people living in the population. Counties that are commonly associated with the Central Valley include Sacramento, San Joaquin, Fresno, Kings, and Kern counties. Fresno, the largest city of the Central Valley is home to roughly 917, 515 residents today (The County of Fresno). According to the 2009-2013 American Community Survey by the Census Bureau, that in which it estimates a population within a 5-year period span, the Fresno County covers a total population of 939, 605…
Daniel Weintraub give demonstrations of pros and cons for a $400 million dollar project to restore the San Joaquin River Restoration (SJRR). I feel that this project stands as a waste of money for a cause expected to fail. Using Bill McEwen’s article, an ethos argument consists of several experts on the matter and famous institutions reported the impossibility of its success, for the logos side of the matter, a number of studies prove the downfall of this project, and for a pathos, the local…
A recent internal report on the Fresno Police Department found that two-thirds of the officers are suffering from low morale. According to the Fresno bee, “Low morale pervades the entire culture of FPD but is particularly intense in patrol division and civilian units,” the report says. “Two-thirds of sworn officers (68 percent) and more than half of civilian employees (52 percent) believe the morale problem presents a serious or severe threat to the ability of the FPD to perform its mission”…
Introduction When a cough isn’t just a cough and may in fact be fatal. Whooping cough is that cough, the one that you should hope never to encounter. The Wichita Eagle states that there were three cases diagnosed in Kingman, county, Kansas. I wondered why this would make the news. Three cases do not sound like much to worry about, however, by the end of the article I realized this is indeed something that should be taken seriously and was indeed newspaper worthy. The article introduces us to…
Berkeley City College, it is directed by Tirso Araiza with the particular name "From the Ground Up/Desde las raices". Through this article, I will show the comparison between these two mural in many aspects. In the first place, what holds the most importance is the artworks's history and general information. Firstly, the mural "Incidents in California history" was started in 1936 and completed in 1937 at the hands of Suzanne Scheuer. Suzanne Scheuer was born in 1898 and became a fine artist with…
