Buboes - swollen tender lymph nodes. Once its established the infection, bacteria count rises and more serious diseases occur: abcesses in organs, DIC (caused by endotoxin) and cutaneous hemorrhage, necrosis of digits/other appendages (necrossi is probalby where black death came from).
