MECHANISMS: Femoral Hernias

Femoral ring usually big enough to admit tip of small finger (Site of origin for hernia)
-> Hernia compresses contents of femoral canal (loose CT, fat, lyphatics) -> Bulge in wall of femoral canal -> Hernia enlarges by passing inferiorly thru saphenous opening (into subcut tissue of thigh) |
