What does WIMP stand for? And what do these components do? |
Windows- represent an active area of the computer screen-displays activity, maybe processing in a program -more than one window can be open at once. Icons- small pictures graphically represent an application or activity. Menus- presents a range of options and commands- used to group related options together. Types of menus include: -Pop-up-represent shortcuts. -Pull-down- represent a range of options and sub-menus. Pointers- will move around the screen based on the movements of a peripheral device e.g tacker pad or mouse. Used to select an item on screen. |

Command Line Interface -Allows the user to type commands which the computer will execute. -These commands are fixed in structure- syntax and limited to one line. -Users require intricate knowledge- must know the commands |
