What is contact inhibition?

Contact inhibition is the natural process of arresting cell growth when two or more cells come into contact with each other.
This is one way in which contraction of a wound ceases. |

Centripetal (out to in).
Centrifugal (in to out). Epithelial migration begins from the outside of the wound and moves inward until contact inhibition occurs in which the existing epithelial cells halt the process. |
