Treaty of Versailles

The treaty of Versailles was the important of the peace treaties that brought ww1 to an end.

Battle of stalingrad

The battle of Stalingrad was one the longest and deadliest battle in world War 2. Fought by Nazi Germany and the soviet union. Where the soviets won this was a turning point in the war because it was the first time German had lost. British and soviet morals where high.

Nazi-soviet non-aggressision pact

The non-aggressision pact was the main component. Assuring that Germany and the soviet union wouldn't got to war. The treaty would last 10 years and continue for another 5. But after invading Poland the pact was ended due to Hitler invading thr soviet union.

League of nations

The league of nation was made after ww1 this was an important decision because the goal of it was to bring peace to other countries. But it no longer exists and has been replaced the with united nations.

Battle of Ortona

As part of the allied forces advance though Italy, Canadian forces fought their tough toughest battles. On of them being to capture the the town of Ortona this battle lasted about a month and was in two parts. The Moro river just outside of the town and vicous street fighting in the town. At the end Canada had succeeded to capture the town at the cost 2300 casualties.

The battle od Britain was an air battle fought over southern England in the summer and autumn if 1940. Hitler wanted to control the air in preparation of the Great battle..

Kristallnacht

Kristallnacht is also known as the night of the broken glass. This happened because the Germans hated the jews and thought they were above them. When Kristallnacht happened, jewish people’s places of worship and businesses were destroyed and vandalized. This is significant because it marked the jews as second class citizens.

Buying on Margin

Buying on Margin is when someone could not fully afford stocks, so they would have to buy the stocks on margin this means the client would put some of their money and the rest of the money would be provided by the broker.

Camp X

Camp X’s purpose was to train agents to sabotage the axis of powers to help the allies fight. this was significant because they sent those trained spies to axis countries (Italy,Japan, Germany) to decode messages like the enigma, which sped up the war.

Enigma

The Enigma machine is a piece of spook hardware invented by a German and used by Britain's codebreakers as a way of deciphering German signals traffic during World War Two.

Hurricane

The Hawker Hurricane was developed by Sidney Camm. As a fighter plane, the Hawker Hurricane was to revolutionise all future fighter plane design. It was to play a vital role in the Battle of Britain and eventually in many other theatres of World War Two. The Hurricane first made its mark in February 1938.
