Agnosticism
The belief that if there is anything beyong this life, it is impossible for humans to know it.
Atheism
Does not believe in GOD (deity)
Comparative Religion
Scholarly discipline attempting to understand and compare religious patterns from around the world.
Dogma
A system of beliefs declared to be true by a religion. (A bunch of dog crap for why someone follows a religion)
Exclusivist
The idea that one's own religion is the only valid way.
Fundamentalism
Insistence on what people perceive as the historical form of their religion, in contrast to more contemporary influences. This ideal sometimes takes extreme, rigidly exlusive, or violent forms.
Historical-Critical
Academic approach to the study of religions, taking into account their historical and cultural contexts, and asking wuestions about the human authorship of texts.
Immanent
text book: present in creation
1. remaining within; indwelling; inherent.

2. Philosophy . (of a mental act) taking place within the mind of the subject and having no effect outside of it. Compare transeunt.

3. Theology . (of the Deity) indwelling the universe, time, etc. Compare transcendent ( def 3 ) .
Incarnation
1. an incarnate being or form.

2. a living being embodying a deity or spirit.

3. assumption of human form or nature.

4. the Incarnation, ( sometimes lowercase ) Theology . the doctrine that the second person of the Trinity assumed human form in the person of Jesus Christ and is completely both God and man.

5. a person or thing regarded as embodying or exhibiting some quality, idea, or the like: The leading dancer is the incarnation of grace.
Liberal
Flexible in approach to religious tradition; inclined to see tradition as metaphorical rather than literal truth.
Monotheistic
the belief or doctrine that there is only one God
Mysticism
