Muhmad of Ghanzi
he led the turkish Ghaznavids of Afghanistan in Raids in Northern India. Muhmad of Ghanzi waa zealous of Buddhism and Hinduism. he launched many raids on shrines, temples, and monasterie. he took the wealth of buddhist and hindu establishments.
Chinggis Khan
hinggis Khan means "universal leader". Temujin was born about 1167 into a noble family. He united all the Mongolian tribes into one single confederation. His policies greatly strenghtened the mongols. He also established the capital at Karakorum. Chinggis Khan empire made it stronger and less troubled because of less clans and tribes. he died in 1227.
Marco Polo
Marco Polo was a Venetian who traveled extensively throught Central Asia and China. He wrote a book that is resourceful because it talks about the mongols way of war in extreme detail. for almost 2 decades he lived in Khubilais court.
Khubilai Khan
Khubilai khan was one of Chinggis Kan's grandchildren. he was the most talented of his decendants. he ruthlessly atacked his enemies. He took an intrest in cultural matters and tried to improve welfare of his subjects. he promoted buddhism but supported other religions. They named him Great Khan. he died in 1294.
osman
osman was a leader among the Turks. he carved a small state in norhtwestern Anatolia himself. he declared independance from the Saljuq Sultan. After successful raids he got more and more followers. they became known as ottomans.
Mehemd II
Mehemd was a Sultan also known as mehmed the conqueror. he captured Constantinople. after he captured it he named it Istanbul.

the turks were nomadic people who were organized in clans and tribes. the turkish people all spoke related languages. they originated from the steppes of central Asia. they were nomadic herders and invaders not farmers.

Leader or Ruler. Muslim ruler. Ruled over a city. king of the city.

The golden gorde was a group of mongols who overran Russia, they also mounted on exploratroy expeditions into poland, hungary, eastern germany. they controlled russia. they maintained a large army on the steppes. they didnot occupy russia, which they thought were unatrractive lands.
yuan Dynasty
in 1279 Kubilai Khan proclaimed himself emperor and established the yuan dynasty. it ruled china until 1368. They yuan dynasty fell because of economy failure.
Bubonic Plauge
by facilitating trade the mongols unwillingly spread the bubonic plague. the plauge erupted in in Southern China. when it reached asia and europe it became known as the black death. the plague weakend the Mongols regime. It killed more than half of the exposed population.
Ottoman Truks
Osman was a turkish leader, his followers became known as Ottomans. they quickly moved to expand their Balkan Holdings. byzantium tried to resist invasions but the ottoman's found support . They were the most powerful in the Balkan peninsula. they later took over the Byzantine empire.
Istanbul
when Mehmed II sacked constantinople he remained the capital Istanbul. With Istanbul as it's base they quickly absorbed the rest of the byzantine empire
