1
1. “It was I who cut the cherry tree, with my hatchet.”
2
2. As Washington taught us, honesty is still the best policy.
3
3. I lied, and I feel terrible about it. I want to take you to Tokyo, and give you warm wet towels to wash your hands with. I want to experience everything new with you. The politeness in Japan is to die for.
4
4. I like your body
5
5. I have so many questions for you. Do you like bendy straws? I can fill the air with this nonsense.
6
6. Like fruits, I am picking the best words to describe you. They call it, Word Picking, and I, am a frequent visitor. I want to hold you like God holds planets in his palms saying “this is the best one yet. THIS, is the BEST ONE YET.”
7
7. They say otters hold hands while sleeping so they don’t drift away. They’re wrong. It’s wherever they drift to, they want to drift together.
8
8. Who I am and what you want both have the same answer. Mixing my words, I am creating clip art poetry. Like, the paper isn’t really like flesh, no the paper is really like flesh, I really like your….
9
9. I really like your body [maybe just use “your body”]
10
10. I lied, and I feel terrible about it. I want to take you to Central Park West. Did you know there is nothing more romantic than diners at 3 am, than park benches in the rain, than New York City streets, just New York City streets. My city is beautiful; do you want to burn it with me, until it bleeds your lipstick, or skyline blues? We have beasts within us, wolves, and we should let them loose for just a little while, or at least let them howl at the moon together. I have so many questions for you. I wanna know if you believe in 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. OR Like Holden, I want to know if you still keep all of your kings in the back row.
11
11. Kiss me on the cheek, because people don’t do that anymore. Lips are too common, and like skyscrapers, they’ve lost their innocence. All I have left from our encounters are red shirts, and A-positive blood because your lips have been leaving their color on everything.
12
12. We are like two forks in the dishwasher you can’t quite untangle. I don’t know if our ends were supposed to tie knots like this. Tongues tend to slip sometimes, and you are the reason tongues stick to metal poles in the winter if you taste too long. Tongue touching has always been taste test for people like us.
13
13. Palindromic line cuts, we are exercising the ability to excise thoughts. Remembering the good parts our conversation, we sit across from each other like complimentary angles, because we’re too sharp to fit into anyone else’s hands. It’s clear that if I didn’t compliment you, I would supplement you. And then, we would be supplementary angles. [maybe omit like paper flesh line]
14
14. I have burns on my hands from touching certain people and I do not know if they will heal.
15
15. I like your body. I like my body when it with your body, it is so quite new a thing. Muscles better and nerves more. I like your body. I like what it does, I likes its hows. I like to feel the spine of your body and its bones, and the trembling firm smoothness which I will again and again and again kiss. I like kissing this and that of you. I like, slowly stroking the shocking fuzz of your electric fur, and what is it comes over parting flesh and eyes big love crumbs. And possibly, I like the thrill of under me, you so quite new.
16
16. I still have burns on my heart from loving certain people and I do not know if they will heal. But you must keep going, lessons are learned, memories are sewing, doing is better than knowing, fluid is better than flowing, growing is better glowing.
17
I dream. Sometimes, it's the only right thing to do.
