There are 5 sections, safety notices, section A temporary speed restrictions, sec B engineering arrangements, sec C signalling and permanent way alterations, secD general instructions and notices

Published 4 times a year quarterly on first Saturday of March, June, sept, December.


Used to update rule book, sectional appendix and other publications.


Front section contains items published for the first time with single sided pages to allow updating of publications


Rear section contains info from previous WON’s that have yet to be published in the relevant publication.

What does the STN contain

Published weekly every Friday contains alterations to trains published in the working time table such as additional stops, diversions to booked route, etc. Also contains timings and trains not published in the WTT such as football specials and additional ECS moves
