Five-stage model of group development |
- Forming: formal acquaintance period were members treat eachother as strangers and establish ground rules - Storming: Members view themselves as individuals but start to communicate. Hostility and resist control by group leaders. - Norming: People start to feel part of the team and realize they can achieve work if they are accepting. - Performing: Team works in an open and trusting atmosphere with flexibility and hierarchy becomes less important. - Adjourning: Team conducts an assessment of the year and plans for transitioning roles and recognizing member's contributions |
