Step 1
Light a candle, note the time, and close your eyes.
Step 2
Turn your head to the right, take a deep breath and then breath out. This step should also be repeated on the left side and while facing forward.
Step 3
With your right hand place your thumb and your ring finger on either side of the root of your nose where your eyes and nose meet, and place your index finger on your forehead just above the eye brow/nose line.
Step 4
Sit and breath normally, being aware of your finger on your forehead. Focus on your finger. Everytime your mind wanders bring your focus back to your finger.
Step 5
Once your arm is tired drop your hand while still focusing on that spot on your forehead. See yourself breathing in white smoke and breathing out either black or grey smoke. As you breath in imagine white smoke filling your body and pushing stale black smoke out.
Step 6
Everytime your mind wonders pull it back to the spot on your forehead. When you feel like you can't sit any longer open your eyes and check the timer. If you have sat for 10 minute or more proceed with the next step, if not close your eyes and focus back on meditating.
Step 7
Stand up. Stretch. Look at something in front of you while thinking about something behind you.
Step 8
Turn to the east, bow, and finish. This is for every adept that has come before me.
