Ramp/Block Fuel



The total sum of fuel applied to an aircraft on stand. Fuel in tank.

(STF)

Standard Taxi Fuel



Weight of fuel to cover APU consumption, engine start and ground manoeuvres until start of takeoff roll. Standard weights are used which are, with a few exceptions, applicable at every airport.

TOF

Take Off Fuel



Weight of total usable fuel onboard at the moment of takeoff brake release.



TOF = FIT - STF

TIF

Trip Fuel



Weight of the pre calculated fuel consumption from take-off to touchdown at the next point of landing

Reserve Fuel

Difference between takeoff fuel and trip fuel, consisting of:


- Route reserve


- Diversion (Alternate)


- Contingency Fuel


- The captain may also take extra fuel, if he requires

Landing Fuel

Fuel remaining on board after landing at destination airport

Payload/Total Traffic Load



The revenue producing part of a cargo such as the total weights of passengers, mail and cargo.

BW

Basic Weight



The weight of an empty aircraft containing all fixtures including instruments, paint, unusable fuel, essential fluids and oils.

DOW

Dry Operating Weight



Weight of an empty aircraft plus the flight deck, cabin crew and flight essentials.

WOW/OW

Wet Operating Weight/Operating Weight



The sum of the basic weight, flight crew, cabin crew, crew baggage, removable catering equipment and fuel but excluding pax, baggage cargo, mail, pallets and containers etc.

ZFW

Zero fuel weight



ZFW = DOW + TTL
