CD45
ALL WBC
CD34
blood precursor
CD30
Reed-Sternberg
CD10
Burkitt/follicular lymphoma & lymphoblastic leukemia
TdT
nuclear deoxynucleotidyl transferase: B & T lymphoblasts
ClclinD1 (bcl1)
Mantle cell lymphoma
CD3
Pan-T cell
CD5
Pan T cell (and B-cell CLL)
CD4
helper T
CD8
suppressor/cytotoxic T
CD19
B cell
CD20
B cell
CD14
Monocyte
CD15
myeloid
CD33
meloid/monocyte; mature granulocyte
CD19, CD34, TdT
B lymphoblast
CD3, CD34, TdT
T lymphoblast
CD33, CD14
monocyte
CD3, CD8
mature T cell
CD34, CD33
myeloblast (because precursor 34)
only place with co-expression of CD8/CD4
upper right quadrant: THYMUS
Neoplastic Langerhans histiocytes
-nuclear grooving
-S100 antigen
3 forms of langerhans histiocytes
1. eosinophilic granuloma
2. hand-schuler-christian Dz
3. lettetrer-Siwe Dz
Usually in adults, solitary bone lesion. Pretty benign
Eosinophilic granuloma
Mostly in kids, multifocal lesions; especially at base of skull. Can get diabetes insipidus if pituitary or calvarium is involved.
Hand-Schuler Christian
Mostly in infants. MALIGNANT! disseminated; multi system involvement.
Letterer-Siwe Dz
Neutrophils/Monocytes that aren't neoplastic -but genetically impaired
1. Chronic granulomatous Dz
2. Chediak-Higashi Syndrome
3. Myeloperoxidase Deficiency
4. May-Hegglin Anomaly
5. Leukocyte Adhesion molecule deficiency (CD11/CD18)
can't generate burst because no NADPH. Kills Strep, but not Staph
Chronic granulomatous X-linked
normal looking neutrophils, negative NBT stain, recurent infections/absecces
Chronic granulomatous X-linked
abnormal giant lysosomes, with neutropenia and long bleeding time
Chediak-Higashi Syndrome
Impaired chemotaxis, degranulation and bactericidal activity
Neutropenia in Chediak-Higashi
Can make H202, but not Halide
Myeloperoxidase Deficiency
Increased risk of candida infections in DB
myeloperoxidase deficiency
no increasd risk of bacterial infections
myeloperoxidase deficiency & May-Hegglin
why do you have an positive NBT test with myeloperoxidase deficiency?
because still making H202, just can't make halide
thrombocytopenia, bizzare looking plateles, giant Dohle bodies
May-Hegglin Anomaly
reccurent infections, neutrophilia (because can't marginate), delayed wound healing & umbilical cord separation
CD11/CD18 deficiency
abnormal adhesion, chemotaxis, oxidative burst, degranulation
CD11/18 deficiency
