F.

Waterfalls are features of erosion usually found in the upper course of a river

E.

An irish example of a waterfall is glencar waterfall co. Leitri!

E.

Waterfalls are formed when a river flows over bands of hard and soft rock. The soft rock erodes more quickly than the hard rock. The processes of erosion that occur are hydraulic action and abrasion. A notch is eroded where the hard rock and soft rock meet. over time this is further eroded. A vertical drop/develops. The river flows over the rock.

Falling water and rocks then erode a plunge pool at the base of the waterfall. The hard rock above the plunge pool is undercut and eventually collapses into the plunge pool. Overtime the waterfall will erode upstream.
