innermost layer. part of the brain ad is a thin transparent membrane.
optic disk
all axons with in the retna lead to this area and form the beginning of the optic nerve.
optic nerve
only part of retna w/o photoreceptors
macula lutea
directly in line with the pupil
fovea centralis
at the center of macula lutea and has the highest concentration of photoreceptors. responsible for fine detail.
Anterior chamber
space between cornea and lens. Filled w/ aqueous humor
lens
refracts light. Suspended to the cillary body by suspensatory ligaments.
vitreous humor
transparent jelly fills the void behind the lens
