What does the Act implement to ensure children's safety |
–a new standardsafety check for all paidstaff in the government - funded children’s workforce –Workforce restrictions preventing people with certainserious convictions from rolesthat involve working alone with, or with primary responsibility for, children.This restriction is subject to an exemptions process. |

What does the safety check involve? |
–Workforcesafety checks involve gathering a range of key information about a person andevaluating this information to determine whether they pose any risk in beingemployed working with children.–Theregulations require that the worker safety checks include:– identity verification– police vetting– reference checks– interviews– a risk assessment that considers thespecific child safety related risk. |
