Basically because of the golden rule you want to treat your slaves the way that you would want your superiors to treat you. Another reason why is because if you treat your slaves right they will love you and give their lives for you as opposed to vice versa to where they don't care if you die.there also human beings just like you, they live under the same roof as you, they breathe the same air you do, and are humans just as you are.
