Introduction
The beginning section of a book, usualyy explainin or defining the subject matter and often written by someone other than the author.
Foreword
usually used for a very brief or simple preface.
Preface
a preliminary statement written by the author or someone else to explain the purpose, plan, or preparation of the work.
Prologue
serves as an introduction to a play and usually gives a very brief summary of the plot

a list of sources of information referred to by an author
Afterword
interpretive comments found at the back of the book by someone other thant the author
