Intrusion

The action or process of forcing a body of igneous rock between or through existing formations, without reaching the surface.

Extrusion

The movement of magma onto the surface of the earth through volcano craters and cracks in the earth's crust, forming igneous rock.

Uniformitarianism

The theory that changes in the earth's crust during geological history have resulted from the action of continuous and uniform processes.

Superposition

A principle of quantum theory that describes a challenging concept about the nature and behavior of matter and forces at the sub-atomic level.
