Attack
The beginning of a sound.
Sustain
The continuation of sound.
Decay
The gradual decline of sound.
Release

Sound Envelope
A picture of attack, sustain, decay, and release of a sound.
Timbre
The distinctive sound of a particular instrument or voice.
Texture
A pattern of musical sound, created by different parts played or sung together.
Sound Wave
A picture representation of sound; variations in air pressure.
Oscillation
The up and down motion of a sound wave.
Frequency
