voters who are not members of a political party.
independent voter
an election in which the voters of various parties choose candidates to run for office in the general election. Usually held in Spring-time, but month varies from state to state. "Fake" election.
Primary election/ Presidential Primaries
a primary election in which only voters who are members of the party can vote for the party's candidate.
closed primary
a primary election in which voters may vote for the candidates of any party.
open primary
an election in which voters choose b/w the 2 leading candidates in a primary to determine the party's candidate in the general election.
runoff primary

grassroots
