What is validity ?

It is an agreement between a test or measure & quality it is believed to measure ( is it valid ? )

What are the 3 types of validity evidence ?

Construct related , Criterion related & Content related

What is face validity ?

When a measure appears to have validity. It isn't a statistical or numerical measure , it's used to see if something is associated with a criterion

What is content related evidence ?

When a test is related to the content it's testing

What is construct underrepresentation ?

.

What is construct irrelevant variance ?

.

What is Criterion related evidence

Let's us know how well a test goes along with another criterion

What is predictive evidence ?

Examines whether a test can anticipate future occurrences

What is concurrent validity ?

Simultaneous relationships between a test and criterion , this is applied when a test and the criterion is being measured at the same time rather now than the future ( predictive )

Would the SATs be considered the predictive evidence or the concurrent evidence ? How about GPA ?

Predictive , because it challenges what you know ; while GPA is the criterion , the outcome you get from the SATs. If the SAT has a high correlation with later GPA , then it has higher predictive validity.

What is validity coefficient

It is the relationship between a test and the criterion, allows us to tell the extent to which a test is valid about the criterion

What is validity coefficient squared

It is the relationship between variation in the criterion & our knowledge of a test score * THERE CAN BE VALUE IN BOTH HIGHER & LOWER VALIDITY COEFFICIENTS, DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION *
