Material Control and it is the squadron's supply work center, and they control their own OPTAR. MATCON orders 9B/7R.
What does RAM stand for and explain in your own words what RAM is used for?
Residual Asset Management (RAM) - The RAM units maintain custody of high cost Aviation Depot Level Repairable (ADVLRS) that are ordered by the individual IMA work centers. The AVDLR's are issued upon immediate receipt of a turn component.
What 2 types of materials do Aviation supply have?
Consumables- 9B COG code materials No turn in required, disposable parts like bolts and washers ect.

Repairable (ADVLRS) 7R COG code material.
(SRS)- Supply Response Section
SRS- Supply Response Section- Single point of contact for processing customer requirements and providing follow ups and statuss as required. Mainly deal with 9B COG code
RCU
Requisition Control Unit- Receives all orders and directs them to the appropriate destinations, and verifies all requirements are valid.
TRU
Technical Research Unit- Researches problem documents and alternates stock numbers, they use FEDLOG and other internet resources.
MDU
Material Delivery Unit- Responsible for the pickup and delivery of all material to customer if its available on board.
PMU
Program Management Unit- Responsible for processing and expediting high-priority requirements, such as non mission capable supply and partial capable supply.
PEB
Pre-Expended Bin- contains free issue of high usage, maintenance-related consumabkes material such as nuts, bolts, and washers.
CCS
Component Control Section- Also known as the repairable management sections (RMS). Mainly deal with 7R COG code material or repairable items.
DCU
Document Control Unit- Responsible for the control of all non-RFI components in the IMA repair cycle, components awaiting turn-in from customers, and all associated documents.
LRCA
Local Repairable Cycle Asset- Materials that are able to be repaired on board.
SSU
Supply Screening Unit- Processes all items returned from the IMA to be shipped off to the support point within 2 workdays.
AWP
Awaiting Parts Unit- Used when maintenance can not be completed on board due to lack of order parts.

ADLR
Aviation Depot Level Repair.
RPPO
Repair Parts Petty Officer- Tracks funding allocations and documents number status changes to each division.
EXREP
Expeditious Repair- When a repairable part is not carried or not in stock, the turn from the customer is considered EXREP.
NMCS
Not Mission Capable Supply- Material condition of the aircraft that is not capable of performing the mission.
(AIRCRAFT IS DOWN)
PMCS
Partial Mission Capable Supply- Material condition of the aircraft that can perform a least one but not all of its mission. (AIRCRAFT IS DEGRADED)
BCM
Beyond Capable Maintenance- when a part is beyond I - Level maintenance (AIMD couldn't fix it) it becomes BCM.

Aids in research stock numbers. A database held on the ship's LAN, a list of all parts carried by the Federal Government.

Is a list of what and how many repair parts we need to be stored on board for future requisitions to support aircraft missions.
