-in the spring of 1963 the crisis in Vi deepended, a crowd of buddhist gathered in the city of Hue on may 8th to protest government ruling, the crod was fired at.

-They waged a campain of terror, assassinating 2,000 government officils in1960.

-Vietcong had close ties with Ho Chi minh in the north which would increase support from the north and indirect support from China and S.U.


-The Vietcong defeted the South despite aid from United States.
