Intermediate Mesoderm
Ultimately gives rise to part of the urogenital system (kidneys and gonads) and reproductive system. It leads to the urogenital ridge
Pronephros
Forms in week 4 then degenerates.
Mesonephros
Temporary kidney in the 1st trimester. Later develops into the Wollfian duct (genital)
Seminal vesicles, Epididymis, Ejaculatory duct, ductus deferens (SEED)
Ureteric bud
From the caudal (tail) end of Mesonephros. Ureter, pelvises, calcyes and collecting ducts. Fully canalized by 10th week. (from the collecting duct DOWN)
Very impt that it induces the metanephric mesenchyme to form kidney structures. Malformation of this leads to Potters (renal agenesis)
Metanephric mesenchyme
Induction by ureteric bud => glomerulus and renal tubules to DCTs
Paramesonephric Duct
Female Mullerian duct: fallopian tubes, uterus, upper 1/3 of vagina (lower 2/3 from urogenital sinus)
Incomplete fusion of paramesonephric ducts leads to bicornuate uterus. No fusion at all => Double uterus
