in the early 1900s, apartheid was going on. the white minority ruled the government and although the black was majority they ere persecuted. Nonwhite south africans were denied political rights and equality in jobs, education, and housing. They were also made to live in seperate communities. apartheid ended in the 1940s and the first integrated electric occured in 1994. Interna unrest and international pressured caused the end of apartheid and nelson mandela was an anti-apartheid leader. He bacame south africa's first black president.
How does war affect africa south of the sahara?
War affects africa south of the sahara because it is a major cause of hunger and malnutrtiion. wars cause starvation and killed many africans. In somanlia, a civil conflict affects more than 2 million people. In sudan, 6 million people need food and civil war in sudan created the world's largest refugee population.
What are the characteristics of the tropical wet climate
the troical wet climate has more than 60 inches of rain a year. there is not really a dry season. There are shrubs, ferbs, and mosses and the trees reach as high as 60 feet. Soil is normally not fertile because the rain strips the soil of nutrients. Rain forest is threatened and bananas, penapples, cocoa, coffee, and cotton are grown.
