Adaptation
A special characteristic that helps an organism survive
Behavioral Adaptation
Behavior that allows animals to respond to life needs
Ex: hibernation, migration, instinct, learned behavior
Physical Adaptation
An alteration (change) in the animal's structure that helps it survive in that environment
Ex: camouflage, mimicry
Camouflage
An adaptation that allows an organism to blend in with its environment
