Chemical reactions:

a change in which two or more substances combine to form a new substance or substances.

Law of Conservation of Mass:

Matter is neither created nor destroyed; the amount of matter before a reaction must equal the amount of matter after a reaction.

Molecule:

the smallest amount of a specific chemical substance (two or more atoms that have bonded together)

Chemical bond:

The force of attraction that holds atoms together in compounds

Compound (molecular & ionic):

Any substance formed by the bonding of two or more chemical elements in a certain ratiocination

Ion:

An atom that is electrically charged, either negatively or positively Ionic bond: A chemical bond between two atoms where one or more electrons are given from one atom to another Chemical

formula:

A formula used to show the types of atoms and their numbers in an element or compound

bond:

A chemical bond where electrons are shared between two or more atoms.

Subscript:

The small characters set below the normal letters or figures, it tells you how many elements are in one compound or molecule,

Endothermic reaction:

A chemical reaction which absorbs heat; it feels cold.Exothermic reaction: A chemical reaction which releases heat; it feels hot.

pH scale:

Scale ranging from 0-14, used to describe how acidic or basic a substance is.

Neutralization:

The reaction that occurs when acidic and basic solutions are mixed, to produce a solution that has neither basic nor acidic properties.

Reactant:

the elements or compounds that are being combined together during a chemical reaction; found on the left side of the chemical equations.

Product:

the elements or compounds that are formed as a result of a chemical reaction; found on the right side of the chemical equations.
