Why are junction obstructions bad?
inflammation can happen behind the obstruction.
- one of the few things that could kill everyone in the room right now is a UTI behind a stone obstruction.

No, no.
In reflux, ignoring possible compliance problems, which tx is better in the long run re: scarring, surgery or antiB?
both are similar. antiB does have more pyleonephritis in the short run.
What are the disadvantages of using endoscopic collagen injection to fix reflux? advantages?
decreased success, migration of particles.

used to look for obstructed kidneys - it's a material that is usually filtered ouf of the kidney
- you can see if it just hangs around that there is some obstruction.

- no, just partial: if it was complete they would have died in utero.

dilation of the distal ureter w/i the bladder

- erythema, edema, loss of cremasteric reflex (keep in mind that not all older kids have a cremasteric reflux)
when should a US be performed re: torsion?
only if you suspect NO torsion, and you want to rule it out completely.
