DELUSIONS OF BEING CONTROLLED

Feelings ones thoughts, feelings and beliefs are being controlled by an external force.

DELUSION OF GRANDEUR

A gross exaggeration of ones importance, wealth, power, fame, talents.

DELUSION OF PERSECUTION

A belief that one is being mistreated, harassed or conspired against. Common in psychotic disorders.

NIHILISTIC DELUSION

A persistent denial of the existence particular things or everything even self. Client may believe that they exist in another dimension and died many years ago from this world.

PARANOID DELUSION

Irrational distrust of others, belief that brings on fear.

SOMATIC DELUSION

False belief concerning body and body function.

CAPGRAS' SYNDROME

A form of delusional misidentification in which the patient believes that other persons in the environment are not their real selves but imposters or doubles.

EROTOMANIA

A belief that someone of higher social status is in love with them and is communicating by gestures and glances

JEALOUSY

Believing that one's partner is unfaithful.
